Course Description: This intense 1-day firearms training course takes the student beyond the realm of defensive applications of the handgun and introduces the student to using the handgun as an offensive weapon.
In most cases, during an active shooter incident, first responders will not have long-guns available to deploy and will take immediate action with the equipment that is available at that time.
This will result in officers deploying their duty handgun as an offensive weapon when they actively seek to locate an assailant to stop his deadly actions.
In a rapid deployment environment, where an assailant or terrorist is actively shooting people, every second counts when officers respond to save lives.
The first officers on scene will not have the luxury of time or negotiations during an event of this nature. Aggressive, decisive action will be necessary to locate, engage and neutralize the threat with the equipment that is available to the officer at that time.
