Pre-requisite: Advanced Pistol 1 Course or firearms training course of equivalent level demonstrating at least 24 to 32 hours of pistol training, at least 1000 rounds of live-fire drills completed and a passing grade on a combat handgun qualification course.
Course Description: This challenging 1-day firearms training course focuses on engaging threats while moving to cover and using cover.
The concepts of moving off the line of force and movement to cover while engaging a threat will be emphasized throughout this firearms training class.
Once cover has been obtained, the student will be conditioned to engage threats from cover while continuously changing shooting positions and locations of exposure.
This firearms training course will be presented in two parts:
Part I of this course will involve the student engaging various static targets during a live-fire session while using cover and various shooting positions. The student will complete the live-fire portion of this class by participating in a live-fire cover course.
Part II of this course will continue with the student using all combined concepts while engaging role players with FX marking cartridges during participation in the man vs. man force-on-force cover course.
Students will also participate in man vs. man dueling drills with FX marking cartridges in our force-on-force barrier field.
The following firearms training topics will be covered:
Firearms training safety rules review.
Review principals of personal defense.
Methodology of using cover.
Mental conditioning and combat mindset.
- Enhanced tactical aptitude.
Review of the natural action stance and thumbs forward grip.
Use of shooting positions: standing, squatting, kneeling and prone.
Moving off the line of force.
Engaging threats on the move to cover.
Lateral and oblique movement to cover.
Maintaining proper distance from cover.
Creating and using cover lines.
Leaning out and engaging threats from behind cover.
Changing exposure locations and shooting positions while using cover.
Use of the flash sight picture vs. perfect sight alignment.
- Enhanced tactical speed shooting concepts.
Mastering Sight Gear 3 - Front sight proximity shooting.
Man vs. man force-on-force cover course.
Man vs. man dueling in the force-on-force barrier field.
Course duration: 1-day (8 hours)
Course tuition: $ 235.00
(Tuition fee includes all range fees, use of loaner firearms and FX marking cartridges)
Course student limit: 16
Student requirements: Note pad & pen, eye protection, ear protection, baseball type cap, heavy pants belt with holster or duty belt with holster and magazine carriers, personal defense handgun with at least (3) hi-capacity magazines or (5) single stack magazines, knee pads, elbow pads, groin protection, clothing and gloves suitable for force-on-force scenario training.
(Body armor is optional unless it is required by your agency during firearms training)
Recommended equipment: Rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellent, hydration system, water and clothing suitable for contact with the ground.
Ammunition requirements: 300 rounds (minimum)
(Ammunition is available for purchase upon request)
